[glow=orange,2,300] -a flicker of amazement crossing her impish muzzle. it was sunset, and the surface almost matched the gold patches of her coat. Tweak was a curious wolfess, and now she wondered what made the water change so quickly from Cyan to Gold. It kept her eyes locked for many a minute, and she could do nothing but lay on shore and let her big brown youthful eyes stare out into infinite waves crashing against the bank.-[/glow]

[glow=gainsboro,3,300]'Beautiful, ain't it?' -A soft yet deep voice came from behind the silent femme; a shadowy figure stepping forth into the dim light...- 'It's one of the many wonders of our lands...- -Spirit spoke fondly of the place he'd one day help 'rule' as he seated himself a foot or two away from Tweak. His greyish-black coat gleamed effortlessly in the setting sunlight; his deep grey eyes focused on the water as he became one with the silence...-[/glow]

[glow=orange,2,300]-Tweak, startled, turned her head to peer at Spirit from her large brown eyes- Yea, it's real pretty. -she looks back at it- I've never seen golden water before. -she stands, her heavy golden fur moves in tone with her sudden jerking movement as she turns more to face Spirit- I'm Tawaekeial...erm...Tweak. -she says, proud of herself for finding a suitable nickname-Who are you? [/glow]

[glow=gainsboro,3,300]'Ahh. Yes. Forgive my manners...' -His deep grey eyes flickered to her as he tipped his head in greeting...- 'Name's PyreSpirit. But all know me as just Spirit. Eldest son of the pack betas. Nice to make yewr acquaintance, Miss Tweak...' -Spirit offered the new wolfess a smile, his eyes returning to the water just in time to catch the last rays of the golden sun flashing over the aqua surface...[/glow]

[glow=orange,2,300] -Tweak grinned and followed his gaze out onto the sea- so, ahem...what makes the water gold? -she feels slightly embarassed at this idiotic question, but her curiosity is overwhelming her-[/glow]

[glow=gainsboro,3,300]-Spirit grinned at the question, his eyes once more wandering to the wolfess for a split moment, then returning to the glowing sky and water before them...- 'Few have been brave enough to ask that question...' -He stated simply, his nose twitching as he took a protective sniff of the air to make sure all was 'normal' in the area...- 'Some say magic does it. Others say gold is located at the debts of the seabed. Yet there are those who say that at dusk, when the golden sun sets low over the valley and casts it's magnificent glow on our lands, it blesses the water with golden rays of light. And the sea, never one to reject just a generous gift, accepts the light and holds onto it for a few short minutes before darkness overtakes its territory. Those who are lucky enuff to witness this exchange are said to be given a part of the gift as well. And each soul then carries a bit of the land within them...' -His voice never changed tones, and his eyes remained unblinking and friendly. Finally, as billions of stars started filling the black skies above, he again turned to Tweak...- 'And yew, as all, are left to choose what to believe...'[/glow]
[Wow. I felt... poetic. Shut up...]

((*shuts up*)) [glow=orange,2,300] -she cocked her head, furrowing her brow in thought- It would be really neat if there was magic in that sea, but it would be even more spectacular for the gold to stay at the bottom, but i suppose that the sun's rays are more feasible. sometimes i wish things were more unbelievable. life is so boring. but that was a nice story. -she grinned cheerfully, wagging her slightly curled plume-[/glow]

[glow=gainsboro,3,300]-Spirit cracked a smile at that too, shaking his head slightly. There was much to teach this new wolfess...- 'Well. When yew live in a place full of everyday magic, yew learn to appreciate the little things that are purely nature's works. Yew're kinda new here. There are many 'unbelievable' things for yew to see...' -His blackish-grey eyes flickered up toward the stars then back to Tweak; for the dozenth time this nite...- 'Come on. Lemme give yew a little lesson. If yew're gonna hang around here, yew'd best learn of our ways. And this is the perfect place to start...' -The grey, black masked, wolf stood and stretched slightly, his built form outlined in the moonlite. Taking a few steps forward, he turned his head and nodded to Tawaekeial...-[/glow]

[glow=orange,2,300] -she grins the impish grin eagerly- that would be great! erm, i mean -she tries to act serious- quite good. -she nods sagely, eyes closed, but a smile played about her muzzle-[/glow]

[glow=gainsboro,3,300]-This time Spirit suppressed the laugh that was bidding to come out, his eyes scanning the land before him for any signs of trouble before he started walking slowly; the sea of gold, now overcast by darkness, behind them...- 'So tell me a bit about yewrself. Where'd yew come from?' -He asked, making small talk as they headed for a nearvy rocky hill; the same that concealed the Hot Springs...-[/glow]

[glow=orange,2,300] -she takes in a deep breath, preparing for a long story- well, when I was born, my parents had decided to settle down into a nice little cave. It was a fine place to live for a little while, but I soon grew restless. As soon as I was old enough to leave my mother's care, I left in search of adventure: something spectacular. Something that I could make a long sonnet about, and would be remembered for all of time. Well, while on my travels I found a spring. I was very thirsty, so I took a sip. That one sip would last me forever. Some called that creek "the fountain of youth"...but nowhere did it have a fountain. it was just a small rock formation filled with clear water. Well, I later learned that I shall now never grow old...i'm not immortal, but I won't age in looks..not ever. This helped me on my road to that special something...not to mention the other wolves who always stopped me with remarks of 'how cute I look'. -she scowled- I never found that adventure, but I did find the fountain. But what good is a fountain of youth if you don't have a journey to employ it onto? i couldn't even tell you where it is now. -she shrugged sadly- but anyway, I wound up here. -she blinked cheerfully and looked at him- now, you, tell me about yourself.[/glow]

[glow=gainsboro,3,300]'Wow. That's quite a past...' -His voice ran just over a whisper, as if he was regardant of the sleeping critters in the nite, and wished not to disturb their rests...- 'The fountain of youth, eh? Yes. We've heard of that many times. They say it practically travels. Never in the same place twice. A logical explanation as to why those who've set foot in it cannot recall its location afterwards. Yew are quite the lucky one to have drank from it...' -The early spring grass crunched under the weight of the wolves' paws as they continued to walk, Spirit's eyes fixated on the path ahead; his ears twitching, alert for trouble...- 'Tell yew about myself? Nothing much to tell really. I was born and raised upon this land. Kno it like the back of my paw. Most of my childhood was pretty normal, considering my parents were and still are the betas of this large pack. I spent most of my days exploring, learning the ways of our people and mapping the lands in my head. I had little time for fun; neither with my two siblings, nor with other pups. Since I'm the next beta in line, it's work first and play later. Always has been. Always will...' -He turned to her momentarily, continuing with a shrug...- 'About 5 months ago, with the coming of winter, my only sister, Aurora, returned to our family after she'd gone off on her own. Bringing with her was her son, Adrian. He was a different boy. Almost made a meal of him when I first laid eyes on his form. Mutt was he. Half dog. My sister had found 'true love' in a human pet, and bore his children. Adrian was the only to survive after her mate had disappeared. Well, taking my priorities as Beta-to-be first, I called a meeting and the alphas agreed that Aurora could no more be one of the 'beta' family. This pushed my sister beyond her limits and she refused to come with the pack when we fled to the Elven Realm over the harsh winter. She was killed later; by lack of food supposedly. Adrian was not to be found. Dead as well most likely. Mother and father were hurt. But they moved on. It's our job to move on. It's part of life. And here we are today...' -His voice faded off there, after spilling most of his childhood to the wolfess. The land grew slightly steeper as they started upward; a small rocky hill rising out of the ground. They were almost at their 'first stop'...-[/glow]

[glow=orange,2,300] -Tweak's nose twitched in curiosity- is a dog so much different than a wolf? i've always wonderred that. weren't wolves once part of man's lives?[/glow]

[glow=gainsboro,3,300]-Spirit nodded slightly, his heavy greyish-black eyes not daring to look at the shewolf while she spoke the truth. He knew that now. But now it was too late...- 'Yes. Our kind were the first to step up to man and welcome them as fellow companions. Over thousands of years, the first dogs evolved from our species. So at one point, there was no barrier between pet and wild. Now, that is different. And in packs such as this one, we pride ourselves in the purity of our blood. Blood that can be traced back in time. Even before man. That is why this case brought up such a commotion...' -He answered truthfully as well, though deep inside he did not feel that way. Coming up to the top of a rock formation, he stopped and seated himself while waiting for Tweak to catch up. His eyes floated over to the roaring sea under them as he watched from the slight 'cliff...'-[/glow]

[glow=orange,2,300] -clambering up after him, skidding on a few loose pebbles, Tweak pants as she sits down at the top- Does that mean that I'm unwanted here? -her usually cheerful face is burdened with sadness and confusion. she is reminded of her slight pet heritage by the curling tail over her back.- [/glow]
