As you reach the middle of the plains, you come across a deep, wide hole in the ground. It runs on for miles, as far as the eye can see, and disappears over the horizon. The canyon walls are formed in rich, brick-red sandstone that was ‘washed away’ by the Rapid River that tears through the middle of the canyon. Old caves and tunnels can be pinpointed throughout the rock formations and many enjoy wandering and exploring them. But large predators such as bears and lions have been seen around, so never stay out past dusk unless you can take care of yourself...
